LAVIT is developed based on the concept of harmoniously integrating a modern and contemporary high-tech lifestyle, with the elements of nature and the surrounding environment - being a catalyst for the advancement of innovation and knowledge industries to bring Uganda forward into its next phase of growth.

The modern and contemporary high-tech lifestyle that LAVIT promotes - is not only limited to the tangible, physical aspects such as bold and provocative infrastructural design and facilities, but also includes of equal importance - services and amenities which include offerings such as vibrant retail, international cuisine and nightlife, efficient transportation networks, extensive recreation facilities, and everything else that is expected of a modern place to live, work, and play.

Institutions of higher learning such as the Jinja University, coupled together with R&D and technology incubation centres that the park provides to its tenants - complement LAVIT as its knowledge catalyst component. Similar to other technology park initiatives around the world, this is to spur new ideas and innovation in developing and strengthening intellectual property initiatives.

What makes LAVIT unique and stand out from other technology parks globally, however - is its surrounding environment. Located near Uganda's second largest and busiest city, Jinja - LAVIT is situated at the northern tip of Lake Victoria - the world's second largest freshwater lake as well as the largest tropical lake on the planet. LAVIT is hence more than merely a "technology park" on its own... it is part of a diverse and rich ecosystem. Various local outdoor and adventure-based attractions are very much a part of LAVIT, as LAVIT is a part of them.

The community from within the Jinja district and surrounding locales are also part of LAVIT's integrated ecosystem. While providing employment and business opportunities to the populace - LAVIT also commits strongly and responsibly towards social development by organising community programmes - such as developing local talent to operate and support Community ICT Centres that provide ICT access, connectivity, and training/awareness activities in rural areas.

While many may argue that modernisation and progress is often at the expense of nature, the environment, and even at times the community - at LAVIT, where the best of both worlds meet, and merge - there is such a thing as having your cake and eating it too. LAVIT sincerely believes it would greatly appeal to the modern youth of today, who are not only creative, flexible and adventurous - but also place a high value on social and environmental responsibility.
